City of Phoenix Airport Worker Child Care Scholarship Program

To aid families impacted by the pandemic, the City of Phoenix created the City of Phoenix Airport Worker Child Care Scholarship Program. The program is designed to help provide safe, quality, and affordable child care so that airport workers are able to return to work as our community emerges from the pandemic.

The program is available to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Badged Workers who are parents/guardians of young children, age birth to 5, not yet eligible for kindergarten. Additionally, the annual gross income for the family must not exceed 400% of the federal poverty level:

Interested families must apply directly to Valley of the Sun United Way (VSUW). Families may apply via the online application or by downloading a hard copy of the application here: SFY24 City of Phoenix Airport Worker Child Care Scholarship Family Application. All applications require the submission of supporting documents to verify household size, income, and lawful presence for the applying child. Please review the Family Application for more details.

Submitted applications will be reviewed by VSUW and applicants will be contacted regarding eligibility within three (3) business days. Once approved, Scholarships may be used at any eligible early education or child care program that is located within Maricopa County and participates in the First Things First Quality First Program.
